Ultimately this BLOVES humidifier will work as expected and will humidify a medium sized bedroom but I had some issues with it which is why I'm only giving it a 'good' rating . This is a top fill ultrasonic cool mist humidifier. Ultrasonic cooling mist technology is present in many humidifier models these days and is relatively quiet. BLOVES is also quiet and I liked that aspect of the humidifier. On the front there is a touch panel with LED indicators that allow you to turn it on and off, adjust the mist output (low-medium-high), humidity in 5% increments and set a timer. At the bottom of the humidifier is a large plastic "bucket". You fill a bucket with cold tap water and then place the bucket in the base and the water drips through the stopper to fill the base where the water turns to steam and then rises up and out the stack in the middle of the bucket. the top of the humidifier. I thought my BLOVES broke because I put a full bucket in the base and turned on the humidifier. It turned on at first, but then did this weird "00" to the display and turned off. I had to wait longer than I expected for enough water to pour into the base and then plug in and turn on the machine for it to work properly. Once the humidifier has sprayed the mist, you can use the top removable plastic cover to add a little direction to the mist. But most fog just rises. To operate, set the BLOVES to the desired humidity level on the control panel, or you can use the included remote control (which has a watch battery pre-installed inside). If you wish, you can then also set the flow rate and timer. Finally, there's a UV setting that activates a tiny UV LED at the base of the device. Not sure how well it sterilizes water or an aquarium from bacteria, yeast and viruses. But I think it's there. So BLOVES really works. I humidify the room. But it's pretty average. First, the instructions are terrible. Translation from Chinese is not clear. For example, is there ultraviolet light to sterilize the mist? Or keep the tank clean? This is not explained. The box also includes two additional parts that are not mentioned at all in the instructions. There's a white plastic screen in there, maybe a filter? I'm not sure where to install it. I suspect it should snap to the top of the bucket stopper and somehow filter the water before it hits the base. But that's just a guess. Then there's the black disc thing, and I have no idea what it's doing or where it's supposed to go. Another thing I don't like is that I can't just turn the humidifier on and get it to work. As far as I can tell, I need to set the humidity level. So I can turn it up to 80% and just let it run because depending on the airflow in the room, the humidity can be high right around the unit but lower in the far corner of the room. I just want a special feature that lets me run it on low all night. Finally, this humidifier had a terrible chemical smell from the packaging. I had to wash it multiple times with soap and water for a total of 4 days and air it occasionally overnight before I could comfortably spray it around the house. So ultimately, this humidifier is fine. But poorly translated, incomplete instructions with random pieces and a terrible initial chemical smell prevent me from giving this mediocre 3 stars.
