Perfect for what I needed
It is well made with a rubber surface to sit on the hardwood floor and a felt surface on which to lay the rug. Although both rug and pad are labeled 5 x 7, the pad is about 1" less all around. This is good in a way, because who wants to be trimming it (it's thick), but I'll have to be careful in placement of rug tape which I'm going to use to keep the corners and one end from curling up. The pad is firm, not cushiony. There is no smell.
- The rubber side provides a non-slip grip, keeping your area rug securely in place
- Can be difficult to adjust or reposition once installed under a rug
