Review on Toolly Tailgate Assist Shock Truck Lift Assist for 2015-2019 F150 Pickup (Excludes Lariat Models) Tailgate EZ Down (Includes Torx Wrench) by Eric Mueller

So first I read the other reviews and for the most part they were correct. There were no instructions. The torx wrench that came with it was the wrong size so you need a T-45. One of the bottom brackets didn't have a ball arm to mount the shock so it was useless, but the other worked fine. I found the price cheaper than others because it didn't have all the tools. I have the tools, so the lower cost was my deciding factor. The bottom bracket is installed upside down compared to what I've seen on similar items and photos. If you put the damper arm on the bracket, the tailgate will not close. Check out my photos of how I installed it. Maybe I'll buy a second one and put it on the passenger side. This provides twice the help and the punches should last longer as they aren't working as hard as they theoretically would. It seems to me that it mounts on both sides, although for some reason you are told that it has to be mounted on the driver's side.
