Functions. But NOT as advertised! I do NOT recommend this device.

DO NOT BUY IF YOU CAN HANDLE WITH AN UNUSUAL DEVICE. This item works mostly as advertised. First of all, you should know that it comes with a tiny box that does the monitoring. This device also has a small built-in speaker from which the sound comes out. Sounds good compared to other cars, but sounds cheap compared to the factory chimes blasting out of the speakers (takes getting used to). All calls are preserved and the block works correctly for the most part. My problem is that it falsely detects that the door is ajar and turns off the stereo. Sometimes he turns off the radio, sometimes not. Basically, the RAP doesn't fire properly when the door is opened. 40-60% of the time it doesn't work right away. I don't have it NOT working yet. Switching off takes between 2 seconds and several minutes. I've actually been to gas stations and when I come back I can still hear the stereo playing (3-7 minutes at a time). As soon as I open the door it goes off! I do NOT recommend this unit for the following reasons: 1) It doesn't play through the car speakers. 2) RAP doesn't work properly and is messy. 3) The built-in horn, while expensive, is far from the pleasing tone reproduced through the speakers of a standard stereo system. I can only give this device one positive review because it actually works 100%. Just NOT as advertised and not right.
