Clip review alligator. Strong feathers!

Overview of Alligator Clips I've used them to make test leads and current jumpers. in teeth making it difficult to hold tiny wires. Solder these. I had no problems with it, but I felt some sediment and dripped it with flux. I had a lot of slag on the iron and on the solder so I know it helped. The ones with screws. Some of the screws were snapped off and they didn't have the little tabs, I wouldn't try to squash them to the metal on that end, it's pretty flimsy. I'm not sure what size they really are. The picture shows metric sizes, but I checked the charts for AWG in metric units and my wire was always too big to fit through the solder hole. I soldered them to the inside of the spring. I smeared everything with flux, wetted the terminal with solder, wetted the wire with solder, and then used the tabs to hold the wire. I then put on a separate clip to hold the wire and act as a heat sink. I used .032 solder to fill the gap and then switched to larger solder so I could fill the parts before melting anything. I've used these clamps as a heatsink, but they don't work very well. I have used others in the past who have done this. They will meet my needs but they are not the greatest.
