Review on πŸ§„ Leifheit Comfortline Gourmet Garlic Slicer for Fine Vegetable Cutting and Slicing, White/Red by Tammy Campbell

Not working well

I wanted to chop ginger to make gari. It takes a long time to peel 2 pounds of ginger, so I thought maybe this jig could speed up the process when it comes to slicing the roots very thin. First you have to cut the root to fit in a small space, then you only get 4 slices of the piece and the rest is wasted. The discs are dirty - I don't know if the blades aren't sharp enough or if this is a design flaw. Cuts are ripped, with lots of threads (instead of the fibers being cut off when cut). After trying 4 small pieces of root I gave up and switched back to the ceramic blade mandolin and everything went very quickly and cleanly, the slices were thinner than with this Leifheit. It was a waste of money.
