Review on Enhanced Uniden BC345CRS 500-Channel Clock/Radio Scanner with Weather Alert - Now Discontinued by Manufacturer by Steve Hauck

This is a great scanner at a very reasonable price. It has more programmable channels than anyone can ever fill, and the scanning speed traverses them fast enough that you don't miss a thing. Features like 'Priority', 'Delay' and 'Weather' are great. I found it very easy to program and was up and running in about half an hour not counting the time it took to find the frequency lists and download them to my tablet which is pretty easy too. It can't handle encrypted traffic, but firefighters, EMS, and most other local emergency services aren't encrypted here, so that's not a problem. It's also nice to have a clock/radio function, although we probably won't be using it often, and having a battery backup means we can keep up if the power goes out. Just remember to regularly check the batteries for leaks, as it's easy to forget they're there.
