I am very impressed with this product. I believed when told that this would make my paint harder and stickier, but I wasn't expecting it to work so well. Sanding is always important, and anything can (and probably will) chip a smooth finish, including this one. But when the surface preparation is done right and your substrate isn't shiny, then the result is just amazing. The Wicked Colors paint I used without this addition easily scratched the plastic I was painting and only because of slight accidental scratches with my fingernails. . After adding that, it's tougher than my nails, my floor, and seems tougher than my (admittedly cheap) sandpaper. Sanding after hardening loosens the sand from the substrate. Having to upgrade my sandpaper to 3M or better is a challenge I look forward to. I'm sticking with the maximum recommended 25%. I don't think my color or opacity changed in any way by adding this higher percentage. If you like cheaper sandpaper, try using a little less.
