Haven't used a pressure cooker for many years but decided to get a discounted 'open box' to see if the technology had progressed much. If that's state of the art, then no. The single dial in the center controls both the time and the pressure, by first turning the dial to an icon that approximates what you want to cook and then pressing the same button and selecting the pressure you want. Sounds easier than it is. This dialing mechanism can only be described as "capricious". It toggles the cycle select and cycle print on and off, so you have to advance it very carefully. Cooking takes place in a removable stainless steel pot that is easy to clean. The safety standards of today's multi-purpose pressure cookers seem to have advanced by light years. All in all, however, I have to say that this model does not live up to the description of "multifunctional" and is very difficult to use.
