I bought these to make the lights come on when on vacation, to lower the risk of burglary. It can be programmed for several modes, one being a "dusk" switch: Light comes on when it gets dark, and then can be programmed to stay on for a number of hours (I programmed 3 hours of ON time) after sunset. But guess what: If the AC power goes out momentarily (which happens all the time here in the Banana Republic of Florida), the switch resets and the dusk programming is lost; which results in the lights NOT coming on any more after power interruption. Even when the AC power comes back, they permanently default to the initial state until someone physically re-programs the device again. Which is kind of hard when you are on vacation. So this makes these things COMPLETELY useless. Was it really that hard to design this product such that the setting is kept in non-volatile memory? EVERY cheap PIC microprocessor has such a non-volatile memory function nowadays! Conclusion: totally WORTHLESS design. Do NOT waste your money on this product. And to add insult to injury - when we came home after a month, the Best Buy Prime return time has passed, so now I'm stuck with these paper weights. In the trash can they go!
