60 foot run - problem solved!

I have a Key Digital HDMI Matrix Switch in a closet with all sources and four 50ft cables to different rooms in the A house. Each then plugs into the Keystone HDMI wall sockets and walks 10 feet to the TV. All current cables are designed for 4K at 60 Hz. The 50-foot cables are active, so they raise themselves, and the switch raises as well. But for some reason there is an intermittent signal from sources in one room (two FIOS boxes, Nvidia Switch, Roku and Kodi Vero). I checked everything and didn't find the error. Even the TV was replaced (at least it was an apology for the wife ;) ). In desperation, I ordered one of these as a hitch between 50 and 10 feet. Cable Matters is a household name and does great stuff, but I wasn't expecting much given what I've tried. This fixed the situation! Best $15 Ever Spent! The power indicator lights up without the need for an external power supply. I ended up plugging in the old USB charger anyway as there's an extension cord next door just to be sure, but I don't think it's necessary at all. They're so cheap I don't think I'll ever use a passive coupler again. Neither of them worked that well, and Cable Matters and Starteck are double the price. Tried one of the unnamed brands which didn't work either. UPDATE 2: I found out the problem room I bought this for with an active HDMI cable, the problem was because the cable didn't work. I ended up having to crawl into the attic and replace it, which stank! Monoprice offers little to no help - I will never buy their junk again! I ended up with a 50ft inactive cable from KabelDirekt (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008U7SLJW) and it worked in every way for 1/3 the cost.

Pros
  • Plug and play with this portable and lightweight HDMI amplifier; Provides a cost-effective alternative to purchasing an expensive 15+ foot HDMI cable; INPUT and OUTPUT port labels make it easy to correctly connect this HDMI Range Extender
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
