Works fine for me, no unwanted noises so far. They only have a few hundred miles so no best before dates yet. Unfortunately, in the past I've only ridden about 1600 miles with a pair of these $18 pads, while in the more distant past I've ridden double or triple that with a set of $10 caliper pads on the same caliper. wheel under the same riding conditions (and no noticeable reduction in rim life with rim brakes, so I don't see that as a cost factor). It's not really a cost-effective improvement over rim brakes, but adding this disc brake to the tandem *is* a safety improvement.
