Great storage solution; some culinary compromises

Conclusion: As a longtime T-fal owner and chef in a small kitchen, I was very excited about this set. The Ingenio set is something you should seriously consider if space in your kitchen is a real concern. If space is not limited, you can choose from a range of traditional-style dishes. What I like: - High quality parts of this cooking utensil. I have an aged stainless steel T-Fal set and have been very happy with it when cooking with the Ingenio pan. Pots and pans have large, heavy, flat bottoms and are great at distributing heat. The pans have an excellent non-stick coating and brown food well even on medium heat (I use an electric stove). With no handles attached, there are no protruding rivets to grab small pieces of food, and these pieces are dishwasher safe. Both pans even fit in my small countertop oven, which saved me even more cupboard space by not having to hang from as many baking sheets.- Lids lay flat and even fit in a drawer if you want to put them in there. easily folds for storage. I was able to double the storage space and refit my large 6 liter pot in the kitchen cupboard instead of leaving it on the stove. The set includes two handles. The handles are very comfortable to use and do not conduct heat. What I don't like: The detachable handle creates an interesting dilemma. This makes it easy to store in a small space, but is a magnet for leftovers during cooking. And it's not dishwasher safe. It's also quite difficult to reach nooks and crannies to clean by hand. Of course, you shouldn't leave your handle on the pan while cooking. But who doesn't need to hold onto the pan by holding onto the handle while stirring/turning/turning food? I found I could quickly rinse and run a washcloth between the "claws" of the handle and clean it up fairly easily after cooking, but it wouldn't be wise to leave any bits to crust over. - Handles are metal with no silicone seal. This is how you get metal on metal when you squeeze pots and pans. I have some concerns that this will eventually damage the rims and walls of non-stick pans, especially. I haven't seen any damage from a few uses, but I don't use metal utensils for this very reason. - Do not use glass lids with attached handle. (Or I think you can, but the lid will not be sealed; it will be slightly ajar with part of it resting on the handle.) Other things to note: - Handles don't offer a perfect fit. They can on certain maneuvers feel a slight hesitation. But I think the hold is strong with good leverage. If you don't let go of the claw grip, the grip will hold. The handles are surprisingly easy to use and don't require a lot of pressure to operate. Very intuitive. However, I'm a little shocked that I haven't managed to pinch the skin between my thumb and forefinger yet. I am sure that one day I will find a way to make this possible.
