Surprisingly good for the price! You have to let the tube warm up a bit and it sounds MUCH better. I plan to change the Chinese tube to GE. If you look at this amp from the inside it looks a little flimsy and simplistic in design but the metal case is very nice and the thing has weight. The volume control works very well, better than my expensive NAD amp. The aesthetics of this amp are amazing in my opinion! The deep amber glow and the mirror behind the lamp make this thing look like it costs three times as much. Update: I upgraded the lamp to a US Military 5670w and got great results! Very low noise level, clear sound but warm. I tried the Soviet 6n3p-ev, I didn't like it, it's too bright and sharp.
