Review on Lixit Chew Proof Glass Bottle by Kevin Carr

I prefer glass bottles because I don't like the idea of plastic molecules being thrown into water. From what I've read it goes fast, esp. in the sun, so even a daily water change doesn't prevent plastic from getting into the water. The other big plus of the glass option is that the glass doesn't degrade over time like plastic (and that's what happens when my bottles crack and shatter for my birds). Another positive feature of this product is the mounting hardware. This is very strong and functional, with a really strong, tight spring for the top mount. I also like that there is a small float that shows the water level. All the water bottles worry me daily that they might cut off the water supply, I think due to a stuck ball. Being a caring caretaker, I check it every day by putting it down the sink like my bird does when it's drinking. So far no problems with this product. My only complaint is that this seller doesn't offer a smaller bottle. Since I like to change the water for my lovebird fairly regularly, I really don't need a 16 ounce bottle which is more difficult to manage and cage than the smaller 8 ounce or 12 ounce bottle. it would be great.
