The mechanically coupled fan has failed and threw part of the fin into the radiator. I decided to take the opportunity to switch to an electric fan. The relay kit I originally bought was over $25 and later had an internal wiring issue that couldn't be fixed since the relay base wasn't designed to be serviced. In the end, I decided to simply connect a standard relay and forego the kit solution. I came across these and was impressed. The relays are interchangeable and the built-in fuse is handy to reduce wiring. Upon completion I tried this and got a nice loud and solid "CLICK" as the relay energized. It looks like he has good contact inside. It gives me a much warmer fuzzy feel than the faint relay click of the old fan rebuild kit. Best of all I received a box of six of these relays. So if something goes wrong I have spares or add-ons for future vehicle modifications. :)
