The second of two cartridges in the multipack was defective - it kept giving an error message saying it couldn't communicate with the printer. The first was fine and still worked when I couldn't use the second - it was just that I was critically low on ink. Unfortunately, when I discovered this, the time for a refund or reimbursement had already passed. Revain gave me a partial credit but not quite the cost of a new cartridge. That's how I learned, despite the savings, don't multipack unless I plan on using them all within the return window. Also, so much for using genuine HP cartridges! This is a nearly new printer and I've only used HP cartridges in it, but I've used other brands in previous printers and haven't had any problems so far.
