Out of the box the mount looks well fitted with a satin black finish, OEM Harley gloss black. After unboxing, I lined up the 2 front C-channel holes on the bike mount and unclipped the locking hardware on the bike dock. It was easy and the mount looked great. The kicker was that once you grabbed the mount, the whole thing contained an inordinate amount of slop. From what I've read in reviews these aftermarket mounts come from the same place regardless of vendor, some are great and some dangerously bad. Unfortunately, what I received was totally unacceptable. No matter how I held it, the mount could easily move side to side and up and down, especially where the removable locks held the docking hardware. There is no way I would attach a travel backpack to it, let alone have my wife sit idly on it. Again there are some mounts that were firm with no issues, some reviewers had very small fit tolerances that they wouldn't mind if the mount I received was where it was mm with a slight deviation in movement due to the weight of the travel backpack would justify it and make it durable. In this case it wasn't so tight.
