I am a dog trainer with 25 years of experience. This collar is my favorite for very strong puppies and young energetic dogs. It's softer than a classic pinch and easier to use than a fake collar while still retaining the sound needed to teach a dog to self-correct. It doesn't hurt, they don't even realize it. Only they don't tear as hard as they would without and give you a little more attention, that's all. What you do with this attention is up to you. Get ready to reward your K9. Don't take any other (silent) throat technology, it's not as fair or instructive. The only thing I don't like about this product (and HS in general) is their red metal label. They could stamp the mark on metal like everyone else, instead adding more "ringing" and volume to an already resonant and bulky object. I'm cutting it right now. never mind Their quality is always first class.
