Works well until you install it in the factory knock out slots on the dash then it isn't

Worked fine but then when I inserted it into the OEM pre-punched hole in the dash it didn't work unless I held it with my finger but as soon as I let go of the button my light bar went off. I pulled the switch back out of the hole (it fitted fine, like other regular Toyota knobs, yes it worked, I put it in the slot, it only works while you keep your finger on the knob, sort of Defect in the design as this item is ideal for the OEM slot on my dashboard.
