So due to this pandemic I'm working from home . In the unfinished basement I have set up a nice place for my "office" and work there. I like to have a drink during the day. And at the end of the day I carry my "plate" back upstairs to the kitchen. Well, the early darkness of the winter months means walking through a basement in the dark (I turn off the lights when I leave). Well, turning a corner in a dark basement, my hand stumbled upon a random box that most likely contained some old Christmas decorations that I would probably never use. Cobalt blue glass shattered on the floor. I mean it exploded! I recently bought a small battery powered vacuum that quickly picks up small parts and cleans up broken bits in kitchen trash. As I inventoried the jars remaining in the cabinet, I recalled every single one that had been broken over the years. One summer while mowing the lawn, the front step slipped off the hood while washing and dropped bowl after bowl into the sink (should have put the dishes in the dishwasher my wife scolded me). As we bought the original set of 12 over 20 years ago we are left with 7. It is not good. Of course I bought other cobalt blue glasses but when they arrived they were too narrow and too tall. It's no good for an OCD like me! (I have to eat m&ms by color and amount of each color) so they went to a box in the basement. Maybe in the wrong box, but hey. i have to check it So I bought her. They *EXACTLY* match the one we bought over 20 years ago! And contrary to what some have written here, there is a blue cast in the glass! I am not painted, taped or any type of finish that will rub off or be damaged in the dishwasher. They are blue through and through! And a fairly consistent blue color throughout the glass! Now I am happy. I have my original 12 blue lenses plus some extras.
