I prefer vinyl coated wires - less noise and they don't interfere when the trailer is unhitched. Only fits bar diameters over 1/2" or less. The factory hitch on my tractor uses a 5/8" bar for the safety chain attachment points, so I need to add some quick links (which rattle and probably just normally stay attached to the truck ). Don't use chains under any circumstances - it will get the job done, just remember that.
