These tunable loop antennas are the most cost-effective way to improve AM radio reception in your home. Radio Shack used to sell a similar product with a black plastic bow, but these items were unavailable for many years. It's nice to know someone else is still making them. In most cases it is not even necessary to attach this antenna to the radio; Just bring it a few feet to the radio. Simply tune into a station on the radio, enlarge the antenna and fine tune with the knob at the base of the antenna. If you have a stereo console receiver or are trying to hook up a particularly weak station, you can use the cable provided to connect this antenna directly to the receiver's antenna jacks. If you can hear the station at all, this antenna will improve reception. To ensure you know what you are buying, please note that these antennas only work for AM signals; They do not improve FM or reception on other radio bands. All in all a good product: simple concept, solid construction, efficient operation and reasonable price.
