Most of these small alarms use rechargeable batteries which you cannot replace yourself, they will die out after a year and you will have to buy new ones. This brand differed in that the batteries could be changed independently. This was the only reason I chose this model, so far it works perfectly. The alarm is a little quieter and a little harder to activate than either of those one-shots I mentioned; however, it does its job well. I set the alarm after I parked my bike and a rather shady guy asked me about it. When I came back later I found my bike was intact and the headlights of the two next to it had been stolen.
