I have no doubt that they are comfortable. When I tried them on they seemed quite comfortable, but I didn't even bother tying my shoelaces because I already knew they were too big for me and would have to be sent back. The size drop down menu offers sizing options for both women and men. I usually wear unisex shoes and choose a women's size as most shoes that only have men's sizes aren't small enough for me. So I chose my women's size, the size with the letter (w) next to it (as opposed to (m)). I even clicked the size chart button to double check and the size chart that showed was a size chart for women's shoes. When I received these shoes, I could tell they were too big simply by holding the sole of the shoe to the sole of my foot. I checked the size on the tongue and in fact it was the size I ordered for women but in men's size. Ordered 8w, got 8m. I think it's just my fault trying to buy men's shoes. Also, I'm a bit of a short person with small legs that looked incredibly awkward on me. They looked like I was wearing platform shoes, it just looked too weird. I wore New Balance all the time as a kid and I can't remember them ever looking that weird on me, but maybe it's just that type of New Balance shoe. I was looking for shoes that would be good for flat feet and foot and leg pain from flat feet and these were recommended to me. I think I'll keep looking.
