Terrible work shoe good for gym and cross training

These are the most slippery work shoes I have ever worn. They are worse than regular shoes. The shoe is structured for motion control but too stiff for good heel-to-toe movement. The insole is soft. However, if you use special insoles, Powerstep Pro or a similar insole, the shoe itself becomes stiff and uncompromising. I usually work 10 hour shifts. I wore these shoes for a short 5 hour waiter shift on a slower night. I couldn't wait to take them off. The dry tiled floor was slippery all the…

Replacement for 1540

I have been wearing the NB 1540 for several years now because they are comfortable and have a wide toe box. But now that they've exploded to $170 or more, I've decided it's time to pick up a cheaper pair. I chose NB mainly because they offer a 4E width which is a true 4E width compared to the 4E width of other brands. One of the main differences between the 1540 and the 928 is that the 928 is much lighter. The cushioning in the 928 is great and they feel just as comfortable as the 1540. The…

NEW BALANCE EXPLODES!

I am a huge New Balance fan and own dozens of NB running, hiking and running shoes. They have really helped with my arched feet, overpronation and bullying of my feet due to my large stature. I had a pair of first generation 928s and they were premium shoes of the highest quality. It took years, but I eventually wore them out. Tried to replace with 928 V3. Overall the shoes are of poor quality. The sole is stiff and offers little cushioning for the feet. This makes the shoes feel like they are…

Not true to size and very very chunky

I have no doubt that they are comfortable. When I tried them on they seemed quite comfortable, but I didn't even bother tying my shoelaces because I already knew they were too big for me and would have to be sent back. The size drop down menu offers sizing options for both women and men. I usually wear unisex shoes and choose a women's size as most shoes that only have men's sizes aren't small enough for me. So I chose my women's size, the size with the letter (w) next to it (as opposed to…

The sole is absolutely non-slip.

I sent back these NB 928v3 shoes. The soles (including the tread pattern) were absolutely non-slip. I slipped several times on smooth, dry surfaces and nearly fell. The wet surface was even more slippery. These shoes were also larger and far less comfortable than my previous size 12 2E Brooks Addiction Walkers. I'm going to try on the Addiction Walkers 2 instead. I was too scared of falling to wear them. I only gave one star to complete this review.

Fit is good but not the best.

Of all the shoes I tried, NB 928 V3 is good. The tongue is short so I have to tighten it as tight as I can to keep the laces from slipping and digging into my foot. Bought 2 shoes. back and still holding up and not falling apart like the 928 V2. I only wear them 2-3 days a week as I have 2 pairs of shoes left. I work in retail and walk 4-6 miles a day. I will buy this again.

Best version of the 928

I've had the 927 for years - these were the best shoes I've ever worn. . In addition, the upper leather was shiny and wore out too quickly. The upper of the 928 Version 2 had better leather uppers than the old 927s, but the shoe still didn't feel right. I could wear 927s right away without them breaking. It took me at least 6 months to break in the 928v2. They felt too stiff and clumsy and just didn't feel right. The 928 Version 3 still uses a good leather upper, but the shoe model has changed…

Good shoes Bad insole

Really good shoe, but the first layer of the insole in the left shoe started peeling off on the first day. I can always buy new stakes, but of course I wish that hadn't happened.

  • Free for educational purposes

  • Useless features

Quality shoe - (see 6 month edit)

This shoe fits as expected and is very similar to my old (discontinued) 840's. They fit my feet very well and overall I think they are good shoes. Unfortunately, one of the felt pads on the earplugs came off after 2 weeks. Not exactly what I want or expect from such an expensive shoe. Had the insert stayed together it would have been an easy 5 stars but from the looks of it I need to buy some replacement inserts so I'm docking a star for that. Edit: 6 months later - after 6 months the shoes…
