I've had the 927 for years - these were the best shoes I've ever worn. . In addition, the upper leather was shiny and wore out too quickly. The upper of the 928 Version 2 had better leather uppers than the old 927s, but the shoe still didn't feel right. I could wear 927s right away without them breaking. It took me at least 6 months to break in the 928v2. They felt too stiff and clumsy and just didn't feel right. The 928 Version 3 still uses a good leather upper, but the shoe model has changed a bit. I've been able to wear them day after day right out of the box, although they're not quite as comfortable as the new 927s yet. So the 3 versions are the best 928s in my opinion. But not as good as the original 927s. Suggestion for New Balance: When you release the 929s, go back to the 927s and just rename them 'new'. The 927s were the best, although they wore out a little quicker. I really regret not having bought a few pairs of 927s before they were replaced. Incidentally, I change my main work shoes every two years because 927/8 soles wear out and become unusable on ice and snow. But I still have my last pair of 927s. They are still very comfortable and look pretty good. Update - my review is still standing. This is the best version since the wonderful 927. As for the shorter language - it's a bit shorter, but that doesn't bother me. Anyway, I like it shorter. I am preparing to order a few more before the 928v3 is replaced with something worse. Unfortunately, this is the world we live in - updates often ruin a good thing.
