High quality paper - thick, good texture, absorbs water well, does not warp much (will not warp if carefully glued). It's a little difficult to rip evenly for a nice edge, but it can be done with enough creases and an edge. It's a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. I bought this for a few projects in my college watercolor class and am very happy with it. For beginners I'd say it's better to start with smaller paper - it's cheaper to go through the whole process if you make a lot of mistakes. If you feel like you're ready to do something big, this is a good option.
