Honest Review from Stanwood Owner

years old but decided to give this one a try. So this will be a fair comparison of these two devices. Both have a cone of the same size. The Lacis comes with two swing arms while the Stanwood only has one. with nut, washer and bolt. Standwood is one piece with a similar bracket with a screw that is part of the main assembly, a washer and wing nut, and a rubber ring to keep it from scratching wherever you put it. The Lacis twist grip is a small piece that can be gripped with (maximum) two fingers. The Stanwood's handle is large enough for a full hand grip. The main body of the Lacis is completely encased in a plastic case, while the Stanwood has all the gears exposed. is a welding disc about 2 1/2 inches in diameter. The ball of yarn created by Lacis was adequate, but it was much cleaner on Stanwood. I know there is a significant price difference between this and the Stanwood. So if you can afford something, it will serve you well. I don't plan on keeping this one as Stanwood seems better to me, but I wouldn't say I won't buy this one either.
