I ordered this because I want to mount my phone in landscape mode on the dash just above the dash. That way I don't have to take my eyes off the road to see GPS directions, traffic alerts, etc. I put the first one in the car and after 20 miles noticed the battery had no flash. icon on my phone. I checked it and in fact it didn't charge. Within minutes of using GPS and streaming music, my phone's battery drained significantly. I took the phone out of the charger, unplugged the charger and used the cable to charge the phone for about 15 minutes. When I plugged the charger back in and put my phone in. I got a chart showing it was charging and the lightning bolt reappeared on the battery icon. It stopped loading in less than 10 minutes. it in Revain and they sent me another one. The same story. It will NOT charge my phone for more than 15 minutes. When it stops loading, I can open the clips with the side buttons, but when I put the phone back in, it doesn't automatically close. I checked and the indicator on the edge of the charger isn't turning red in this case, so it's not an overheating issue (or if it is, the indicator that the user manual says should be red isn't turning red). I'm pretty sure I'll be returning the second unit for a refund and looking for a different manufacturer. Teacher. I cannot recommend this brand to anyone.
