Review on πŸ”‘ Keyecu Flip Shell Remote Key Case Fob 3 Button Replacement for Mazda 3 5 6 RX8 CX5 CX7 CX9 by Arturo Reyes

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I would say that the part itself is good. It seems basically identical to that.

Both of my keys to my old Mazda 5 were worn out, most of the plastic parts broke when I changed the battery and both needed tape to keep them from falling apart. I decided to replace the keys inexpensively. Overall I would say that the part itself is ok. It appears to be basically identical to the original Mazda key. So if you are complaining about this part, I would say that you also assume that the original key is bad as well. However, I also had a lot more trouble getting the exchange to work than I expected. I fully expected that I would have to replace the transmitter from the old key, as it is clearly documented that this key is not included. It wasn't difficult either. I was hoping to easily replace the metal key with a new part (my old key had a broken plastic part). However, due to small manufacturing differences between the new part and the original, it didn't quite fit, so it didn't work. In the end I had to get a new key made by a locksmith. Only $3 extra so not a big deal but wasted a lot of time. The other part here is the "transponder" mentioned in other reviews. There appears to be a small piece of magnetic material at the top of the key box. The car won't start if it's not in the key, so you have to move it. Unfortunately, I couldn't just remove this part from the old key without completely destroying the plastic case. However, in the end he came out, switched, and then everything worked. In general, if you have some skills, you can perform and complete these swaps. If the top of your old key is still fine, you CAN just swap it out (I had a broken piece that didn't quite fit and lock either, so that didn't work for me). Otherwise you may need to copy the actual key and replace the transponder part. Just be prepared for whatever you throw yourself into.
