Review on ASUS XG27AQ: DisplayPort DisplayHDR 2560X1440 at 170Hz with Height Adjustment, Blue Light Filter, IPS, and HDMI by Tyler Shanks

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not bad. It could be better.

The monitor is excellent. Arrived without pixel defects, very well packaged. It also comes with HDMI, DP and USB cables. In terms of image quality, it's a big step up from 1080p. Colors look great, although some content has slight streaks due to the limited 8-bit signal at maximum refresh rate. At best, the uniformity is fine. The gray tones look fantastic but the ips glow is noticeable in darker scenes. (1st photo is heavily exposed, 2nd photo is less exaggerated) one of the compromises with the ips panel. Motion clarity is fantastic, much better than my old 1080p monitor. Response time is fast and the monitor has features like ELMB, adaptive sync, and overclock settings to improve response time and motion clarity. When all is said and done this monitor is a fantastic choice when on sale. For $299, this is a great gaming monitor for pretty much anything. Thanks to Asus for a great monitor.
