If you use a WiFi socket or other means of switching on and off, you may not need it. I wanted to set the light to turn on a daily timer, and these days most of us use a simple Wi-Fi switch for that. Regardless of how you do it, unless you want your lights to flash like a circus, this can be a huge disappointment to you. I can't use a timer with them because I want the lights to just turn on and be in a steady non-flashing state. But they don't have that option, all you get is really crazy blinking. So for me the bees are completely useless. I try to use them for some nice elegant landscape lighting in the yard, not a carnival. I either send them back or put them in a box on the shelf.
