I was looking for a pendant light for my studio for ambient lighting but didn't want it to look functional. This is similar to some that are sold in lighting stores at a much more attractive price. I haven't gotten an Edison bulb for it yet, and I've added a lampshade (I saw something similar at a lighting store), but I'm getting lots of compliments on my new lamp! This lamp comes in a flat box. and you need to open the rings to turn it into a "ball". It's not a heavyweight, but it has substance. I had to use zip ties to keep the light wire connected to the structure. I also see that if you rush to open the rings you can scratch the black paint. But what do you expect in this price range? i really like it
