Review on πŸ” Enhanced Precision: Adjustable Electronics Magnifying Soldering Magnifier by Joseph Harkins

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A useful addition for fine work such as soldering/repairing jewellery/watches or other small jobs.

This second hand soldering tool with magnifying glass would make a great addition to your workbench. It has 5 movable arms with crocodile clips and a 6th longer magnifying arm. The only criticism is that the magnifier arm wobbles a bit when in use. It would have been nice to see a slightly larger diameter lens but the 2 1/4" 3x lens works well. The metal tray has 7 well recessed positions and the center tray is perfect for a tip cleaner or for placing a flux gun /Solder cup Alligator clips have heat shrink tubing to protect work piece Levers are flexible and stiff enough in use to hold parts in place Weighted metal base has rubber feet to protect work surface There are 3 backlight colors with 10 brightness levels The levers screw into the metal base and the alligator clips are inserted into the top of the levers The magnifying glass screws onto the longest arm The unit is USB powered and can be powered from a laptop or wall charger.

Pros
  • 5 Bendable Alligator Clips: Swivel 180 degrees and then "lock" with knurled nuts, these alligator clips are insulated and non-itching. Soft clips hold without scratching or pinching, they can hold circuit boards, wires, motors...
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
