Review on πŸ”Œ OREI HDBaseT 4K 60Hz HDMI Extender over Ethernet LAN Cable - Up to 115 Feet - IR, CEC, RS-232, PoC by Jerry Estrada

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Works with Canon C200 but only at 1920x1080p 8-bit 4:2:0

I received these extensions for an upcoming event where I need to stream video from a Canon C200 to a remote audience watching from outside the building. These extenders do not work with all HDMI formats, despite marketing materials stating otherwise. I can't see the signal when the camera is set to 4K HDMI output or when it's outputting 1080P with 10-bit 4:2:2. I had to reconfigure the camera to output 1080P 8bit 4:2:0 before it finally worked. Unfortunately I don't have time to return them as the event is this week but I'll probably return them after the event and try another brand. I have a field monitor and I have verified that the HDMI signal from the C200 is working properly with the field monitor so I know it is not an HDMI port, camera or cable. The good news is that I was able to get the combination of settings to work and successfully tested sending a 1080P signal at 330ft over a CAT6 STP for outdoor burial. Cable.

Pros
  • CEC - Allows control of other CEC enabled devices connected via HDMI, RS-232 control port and Power over Cable - use only a power adapter the transmitter side or receiver side to power both devices
Cons
  • Slightly dented
