Easy to install, great looks

TV and cable box Upgrade to 4K and requires new Cat/Ethernet extender for 4K. The product is small and easily fits behind the TV. A distinctive feature is the presence of a power supply unit, which provides power to both devices. Ideal for wall mounting. Image quality has improved significantly over the previous 1080p adapter. The price is great considering the local electronics company wanted to charge $500 for the product and installation. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

I've had problems with other OREI HDBaseT HDMI extenders, but

this one seems to be the best. I have had several of their models in the past and they have been damaged by lightning strikes. I think the problem was the different power supply of the XMTR and RCR modules. This uses a shared Ethernet cable and power adapter and has been working reliably for over a year. Picture and Sound Quality = Best, I can't get enough of OREI. The costume service also helped me a lot.

  • Only positive
Cons
  • Hard to say,

Perfect app for our gym

We are installing a large video screen in our HS gym and although a media server is used for sports videos we wanted to be able to use the display for any guest speakers as well. While wireless HDMI extenders could be an option, we were concerned about the performance of all wireless devices in the gym at large gatherings and decided a wired solution would be best. We have a 165ft Cat6 transition between devices. This system allowed us to mount a box on the wall where the presenters couldโ€ฆ

Works with Canon C200 but only at 1920x1080p 8-bit 4:2:0

I received these enhancements for an upcoming event where I need to stream video from a Canon C200 to a remote viewer outbuildings. These extenders do not work with all HDMI formats, despite marketing materials stating otherwise. I can't see the signal when the camera is set to 4K HDMI output or when it's outputting 1080P with 10-bit 4:2:2. I had to reconfigure the camera to output 1080P 8bit 4:2:0 before it finally worked. Unfortunately I don't have time to return them as the event is thisโ€ฆ

Perfect for our gym

Use the display for any guest speaker. We have a 165ft Cat6 transition between devices. This system allowed us to mount a box on the wall where the presenters could easily plug in their HDMI source (and have an ethernet connection for their internet - again Wi-Fi glitches/bandwidth issues). The POE capability

Great product that works as advertised

I make a lot of videos and slideshows for company parties. I have listed 4 other 3rd party devices up to 392ft but there is a slight video lag when moving the mouse. It didn't really matter since most customers mainly want videos and slideshows. At a company event last week, the video we showed had a lag in audio. I've never experienced this problem and had to use a video switcher to slow down the audio by 200ms. I decided it was time to find a solution if I'm doing a mixer-free event. Iโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Extends 4K@60Hz with HDBaseT HDMI over Cat5e/6 extender allows HDMI audio/video transmission up to 35m and 1080p up to 200m | HDBaseT technology for lossless and zero-latency transmission | Bidirectional IR allows the source device to recognize remote commands to control an HDMI source in an additional location or vice versa.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Works great, even on CAT5e!

I have a house that is connected with a Cat5e ethernet cable and I would like that my monitor is in one room and my computer is in another room. I've tried other extenders in the past that either compressed the video (resulting in unacceptable latency) or didn't have enough signal strength to transmit it through all the cables without appreciable noise (e.g. red pixels everywhere). There is no noticeable latency at this setting and the picture quality is perfect at 1080p. Total cable lengthโ€ฆ

Pros
  • 4K@60Hz HDBaseT Extender HDMI over Cat5e/6 Extender delivers HDMI A/V up to 115ft and 1080p up to 200ft | HDBaseT technology for lossless and zero-latency transmission | Bi-directional IR allows the source device to recognize remote commands to control an HDMI source in an additional location or vice versa
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
