Worst stool ever. DO NOT buy this. the parts are made of chipboard, similar to the material. I've had two bowel failures within a few months of use and I'm not that heavy (160lbs). What's even worse are delivery quality issues. I ordered this item because I thought it would go well with my other stools in my kitchen that do not have a step. First it came without screws. I complained and got a brand new stool instead of a set of screws. The problem was that 1) I had already attempted to assemble the stool along with other screws in my house, 2) I wasn't told I had to return the first stool. So I went to the store, bought some more identical screws and assembled both stools. Next thing I know I received an email saying I missed the deadline to return my other stool so I was paid double. Great, I thought, I must have overlooked something when I returned the first stool. But then, after a few months of use, I flew out of one of them. I was concerned because the screws I used in the step piece might not be 100% correct as I bought a few at a hardware store. The next one broke within a month. It had all the legal screws in it and was still spattered. I could break something. You'd better find something in the store to test.
