Review on ๐Ÿ”ฆ Cygolite Hotrod 110 Lumen Front Light & Hotrod 50 Tail Light: USB Rechargeable Bike Light Combo Set - Illuminate the Road with Powerful Visibility by Raymundo Miller

Revainrating 4 out of 5

UPDATE: REAR UNIT DEFECTIVE The rear is perfect, but the front has two major flaws.

UPDATE: REAR UNIT DEFECTIVE. Both have been reconfigured. The taillight has a "steady, then flash three times, then again" mode, which I think is most appealing to the motorist when watching bikes. Much better than just blinking or just constant. It adheres well to the seat post and does not slip. The front (white) light is mechanically identical to the rear, but is significantly less suited to front mounting than the rear is to rear. 1./ The light cannot be mounted on the head tube because the supplied strap is too short. (It's the same size seatpost as the rear.) 2./ In my application it can't be mounted to a handlebar or handlebar post due to the mess of the brake and shifter cables - see pic. 3./ In each of the (more effective) flashing modes, the light flashes in the driver's eyes. Especially in cloudy weather or at dusk, which makes these modes useless - right when you need them most. Manufacturers can fix headlight problems with a longer headlight mounting strap, or at least offer one for sale. Glare could be reduced with a small hood to protect the driver's eyes. I made one with duct tape. Let's see how it goes. If it doesn't work I'll send it back and just buy the back one.
