I am using a Yamaha AV Receiver purchased from Costco which is rated as a very good budget system. I use a speaker cable purchased from Revain which I found to be quite good. Revine recommended it. I hear popping noises when the volume is turned up a lot for movies and music. Everything I've read says this indicates a misconfiguration. I'm waiting for a better quality speaker cable to see if that fixes the problem. I'll update this review after I fix the cables and review all setup options. It's hard to tell if the problem is with the speaker, the receiver, or the wiring. Update: With the upgraded 12 gauge speaker wire and messing around with the crossover setup on my Yamaha receiver, the pops are almost gone. I can now give 4 stars as I still have occasional but random dropouts.
