I was very skeptical about making this investment due to so many bad reviews. I was looking for a replacement for my Nighthawk router and access point. Setup, user interface, 2.4 devices without connection etc. more than worried me in this price range. I took a leap of faith and invested in RBK853, router and 1 satellite. 1 The satellite is only connected because it is far away and my house is connected to it. The other satellite is wireless as expected. The setup recognized it with no problems or questions. From the moment I opened the box and started installing, the installation couldn't be easier. Setting up the app was smooth, connecting the router to my ISP (XFINITY) was smooth, changing the Orbi network to my current network with a password.... SEAMLESS! All Nest 2.4 cameras, thermostats, smart plugs, and more connect like a keychain using your old Orbi Wi-Fi name and password. It's been a week and no dead zones, lots of coverage, great app management. It's definitely nice to be able to log into the router directly from the webpage 192.168.1.1 etc. and change and configure all the settings you want. The app shows a great network map, security options, speed tests etc etc. I have a big house with 30+ devices connected and it seems to be growing every day. I am very happy and am considering Orbi as an investment for at least 5 years. I would 100% recommend this product.
