There is fiberglass under the cover, DO NOT OPEN
I don't know what the manufacturer is talking about, but there is definitely a fiberglass cover under the outer cover of the mattress. I've been using it for a year and when I went to wash the mattress pad which says ok on the label the fiberglass was all over it. I had to throw away all my blankets and sheets and it itches terribly. My whole bedroom sparkles.
