This light was very easy to install. It mounted directly on the electrical box that was already there for the existing light. The light is bright, and I believe it's a good value for the price. The one thing that surprised me a bit was the fact that, though it was quite bright enough, the light didn't fill the room with light like the traditional fixture that it replaced, which has light bulbs facing horizontally along the ceiling. I believe in that case, the light was reflected off the ceiling and walls, making the room glow a bit more. However, the light from this fixture, though diffused, is pointed downward, so it gives a more institutional feeling.
