I ordered this metal potholder loom because I thought it could be used for more than just a potholder or trivet. It is very similar to many 7" x 7" size handy needle looms on the market. I started out hand weaving using a large so-called circular loom, but felt overwhelmed trying to cope with the size, which is certainly much larger than a human being. This little loom turned out to be a lot easier to learn, and I use all the different weights and textures I wanted to try, including ripped strips of fabric. elastic loops and sketched some multicolored rugs. Finished size is approximately 4 1/2 inches. As a reminder, when purchasing hinges, check the composition of the material as many hinges contain nylon or polyester and they will MELT or burn.
