Review on πŸ’‘ Samlex PST-120-12 120W Pure Sine Wave Inverter for Reliable 120 VAC Power by Matthew Shankar

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A pure sine wave is what I needed and what I got.

Bought as a power source for the auxiliary heater in my mother's car. I have used 12 volt heating pads with lighter plugs and they are all poor quality. They won't hold up like regular 120 volt AC heating pads - they're pretty brittle by comparison. However, many standard household heaters have controls that just don't work well or at all with cheaper rectangular (modified sine wave) inverters that plug into car cigarette lighters. The electronics in the controllers simply cannot tolerate anything other than a pure sine wave. This inverter works beautifully and simply. I connected a very large 70w heating pad to it and it worked fine with this inverter while the smaller models didn't. Some electronic devices will work with modified sine wave inverters and others will not. It seems to be a matter of trial and error. This Samlex model is definitely more expensive, but you get what you pay for.

  • Easy installation
