I've just acquired this mouse that doubles as a keyboard, and it's a real treat. For a good number of years, I have relied on Logitech mice. This mouse has taken the place of an older model known as the cool mx620, which had been in use for the previous 12 years. The previous model's soft coating had worn away to reveal plastic underneath, and the resolution of the laser sensor was deemed insufficient for the current environment. Although it is significantly more compact than its predecessor, it still "lies in the hand" very comfortably despite its reduced size. It would appear that this size is slightly larger than that of portable computing devices like laptops, but unquestionably smaller than that of desktop computing devices. This seems to be the "golden mean" for me. I thought the wheel was great because it was weighty and "switched" between line-by-line and continuous scrolling modes. On older mice, you had to press the buttons or move the lever to change the scrolling mode; however, on this one, it takes care of itself; all you have to do is scroll the wheel a little faster and it will take care of itself. Everything about the device, including the buttons and the exterior casing, has a premium feel to it, making it an extremely satisfying experience to use. Following the completion of the native software installation and the activation of the automatic mouse and keyboard switching (mx keys) between computers, the previously used mice and keyboards were placed in the drawer, thereby liberating additional space on the table. I have only worked for a day, so I need to keep an eye on how the battery works for a little while longer before I can comment on its performance. The mouse is in a fantastic mood. An additional advantage is the unified receiver and transmitter, which allows multiple devices to be connected to a single transmitter as well as multiple devices being connected to multiple transmitters. This feature is especially helpful in situations where there are multiple computers.
