Review on Powerful and Efficient Right Angle Drill 355 750 for Versatile Applications by Michael Tegan

Excellent drill! for angle drills

Every electrician I've worked for had one and it's a great tool. I mounted the power head at a right angle so it runs at 'high' speed, maybe the 3002 would have been better as it's a bit faster, but I went with a higher power drill. I was thinking of a holey or Superhawk but couldn't justify the extra weight and the 3107's head is slightly smaller and slower overall than a Superhawk and much smaller than a regular holey walnut. I don't do rough work in new houses every day, otherwise one of the heavier tools might be a better fit (then I'd grab the makita DA4031). Reviews comparing the Milwaukee 3107 to a comparable Makita block all indicated that the Makita is marginally better (easier to remove cartridge and replace right angle drive assembly, quieter operation, faster speed, better positioned reverse switch), regardless positive Makita has opted for a Milwaukee 3107 body kit. I work with the Milwaukee a lot and I know it's a great, durable tool and the 5 year warranty is a huge plus over the Makita 3 year warranty. In 2007 I jumped to sea from Milwaukee and bought a Makita LXT600 wireless kit. While the tools are very well designed and have a lot of cool innovations that seemed to come out of Milwaukee years later (LEDs for lighting), I've had a lot of pesky issues with them and half a dozen throwbacks to Makita (gluing ammo, removing gears), outlet, fan charger, saw recoil), at this point I used my trusty Milwaukee 14.4V cordless hammer drill to fill in the gaps. So, after all the trouble I've had with the Makita tools, I decided to return to Milwaukee. , and I will when I end up replacing my current wireless set, but that won't happen for a few years. The 3107 may not be as mature as the Makita unit but it's a very reliable traditional performer and I'm sure it won't disappoint and it comes with a 5 year guarantee. I searched for testimonials real not fake direct endorsements or weekends and only found one a plumber in CO looked at a bunch and it appeared to be legit. The blow molded case is a bummer, to store bits, fix it and make it useful you have to cut a hole in the plastic connecting the bottom left and right "pockets".

Pros
  • Power and hand tools
Cons
  • Requires outlet
