Turtle Power! . Turtley Cool! . Turtle worth it?

I've been a fan of these speakers for several years, from the tortoise shell 2.0 to the new 3.0 model. If you are wondering what I think of the previous model, please see my profile and compare; OR just read this review and find out for yourself. If you only use it as a speaker and don't charge other devices, a full charge will last for several days at low to medium volume. additional charging is not required. This comes in handy for long journeys as the combination of Bluetooth capability and Google Maps makes this product versatile in most environments and achieves 'more' than just a speaker. What I did with my speaker was use it for hiking, traveling, and playing music while I work. I've been using it for a few months now and I can tell you that the light weight of this product is key, whereas the previous Tortoiseshell 2 model was big and responsible. (Hard!) These speakers last longer than the battery itself; and will likely crush anything that gets in its way. (See the previous Tortoiseshell 2.0 story for details.) Speaking of the battery, the speakers will turn off when they're fully charged, giving the battery a rest and not going to junk for a year. The device reports low (25%) to high (75-100%) battery life so that you can measure without unnecessary software. If you have a habit of leaving the room with devices on and wasting precious hours on energy, don't worry; This speaker turns itself off. The software for this is buggy, not updated, and I see no progress over the years of production. So you're on your own when it counts. (for now). I don't think it's a good thing, or a feature, or anything. You can take it anywhere, drop it and it will never break. You should be aware that this is not the best option for charging devices, the app does not work and it is best used only for a camping/travel/work portable speaker. If you need something that charges devices, get a device that's specifically designed for that. I will update when I use the speakers and photos showing how I used it. 4/5 stars. It would have been 5 if the software had been running since it was promoted. But Bluetooth is pretty much all you need, not some gimmick to muddle things.
