Review on Evenflo Multi Use Decor Walk Thru Black by Danielle Hartman

We use this gate in a high traffic area to keep our four dogs in (or out of) the kitchen/dining area. Three of our dogs weigh between 60 and 100 pounds and love to stand up with their paws up. This is the second time we have bought this gate and as others have reported the hinge is unusable and breaks after about 6 months. The gate is beautiful and fits in well with our decor and is strong enough to withstand serious abuse from a large child and dog, but the hinged plastic cover just doesn't stand up to the test over extended periods of time. It's disappointing but we'll probably buy it again simply because it works great until it breaks and looks good - which is a must for being right in the middle of the house. We have a smaller version on our doorstep laundry. to keep the dogs out of the litter box and we're on our second. It also had a dirty strap that eventually broke but lasted longer because dogs don't step on it. Excellent gate, very aesthetically pleasing and not durable.
