I regret the purchase As a replacement I bought a Logitech C920. I've used other "cheap" webcams, even other Microsoft cameras, which worked better than this one. Sure, it's better than the cheapest no-name webcam you can buy. But not much. In particular, this camera struggled to deal with real-world lighting conditions that other cameras had no problem with. The picture was always either too dark or too bright and washed out. The camera built into the ThinkPad T470s is much better than this. When I point this camera out the window on a sunny day, all I get is a completely white image. Adjusting the brightness or white balance is just awful and always feels wrong. I am very happy with the Logitech C920 which I bought to replace. If anyone is hesitant to buy a good camera like Logitech or this one, trust me the upgrade is worth the price. The difference between day and night. Logitech has software that lets you tweak the settings, this one has nothing. Just plug and play frustrating. I feel like this camera was just a waste of money. Maybe one day I'll use the webcam in different lighting conditions where I don't care too much about image quality and it will do the trick. I wouldn't buy it again.
